Seoul National University held a 2024 summer camp program named "Agricultural AI Robotics and Practice" summer camp from August 9th to 12th at the Siheung Campus Education Cooperation Building. The program was organized by IITD(서울대학교 대학연대 지역인재양성사업단) of Seoul National University and hosted, managed by Professor Hak-Jin Kim from Department of Biosystems Engineering at SNU. The participants were undergraduate and graduate students from Agricultural machinery and Smart farm Departments from 12 universityes, including Kangwon National University, Kyungpook National University, Gyeongsang National University, Kyung Hee University, Kongju National University, National University of Sunchon, Pusan National University, Chonnam National University, Chonbuk National University, Jeonju University, Chungnam National University and Chungbuk National University.

The basic theory and practical training on AI and robotics were conducted by Pink Lab. From the first to the third day, students engaged in basic training and practical exercises involving environmental setup for small robots, OpenCV, Aruco Marker, YOLO and Deep learning. On the fourth day, teams of four participated in a creative engineering design class to complete assigned tasks and on the final day, an agricultural AI robot competition was held. Participants used deep learning to detect assigned targets while autonomously navigating the course marked with paths or Aruco Markers.

The grand prize was awarded to a team composed of students from Kyung Hee University (Min-ju Kim, Yeo-jun Yoon) and Pusal National University (Geon-hwi Park, Hyun-joon Hwang). The excellent award went to the Chonnam National University team (Woo-jung Son, Myung-ki Lee, Eun-ji Joo, Seo-young Kang) and the encouragement award was given to the National University of Sunchon team(Yo-sep Lee, Si-eun Han, Sung-mi Sun, Sung-wan Park). Participants shared their experiences, saying "Collaborating as a team to solve difficult problems was a great opportunity for growth" and "I didn't have many opportunities to deeply engage in hands-on pracitice with robots at school, so I was glad to gain relevant experience through this camp."
